This is a great make-ahead recipe and freezes well.
Ready, Set, Go!
1 pound ground pork
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon garlic, chopped
1 teaspoon fresh ginger, peeled and grated
2 tablespoons toasted sesame oil
3 tablespoons tamari sauce, gluten-free reduced sodium (or gluten-free soy sauce)
1 can (8 oz) water chestnuts, chopped
1 head butter lettuce, leaves washed and separated
fresh cilantro
pickled ginger The Ginger People brand (adds punch of flavor as garnish-optional)
favorite hot chili sauce, gluten-free
Brown ground pork with olive oil in large skillet until cooked through. Add garlic and ginger to pork and cook for a few minutes. Add sesame oil, tamari (or soy sauce), and water chestnuts.
Gently nestle pork into lettuce leaf cups and garnish with cilantro, pickled ginger, and hot sauce. These are hand-to-mouth delights.
