It's that time of year for 4th grade students in California schools to learn about the State's missions. This quick photo is of my daughter's gingerbread creation from last year. Yes, it's gluten-free and dairy-free! Here's how it was made...
Pamela's Bread Mix and Vanilla Frosting Mix were the foundation for the structure. Their website has a detailed and easy instruction guide to follow: http://www.pamelasproducts.com/gingerbread-house/
My daughter mixed different food colors into the frosting to get the desired brown for the mortar. All of the decorations are from gluten-free candies. The rooftop is made from Wrigley's Big Red gum sticks, the yellow bell is a Dots candy, and the stones are Jelly Belly jellybeans.
This is a wonderful example for the kids to see that there is life after gluten!
